Abstract

This research aimed to analyze the profit of literature in the Northeastern part of Thailand to get the summary of profit of literature in the Northeastern part which is the source of information about Buddhist Literature in Northeastern part.  The main points to study are general knowledge about the original manuscript, form, theme, literal art, body of knowledge, and the influence on the lifestyle of the Northeast people.

The result of research revealed that the form has many volumes.  They are volume of Longrak, volume of Longchart, volume of Charttuep, volume of Landin and volume of Raktuep. Isan Dharma alphabet was used to write these literatures. Their diction depends on the Suttanta Pitaka for the plot of those stories and inclusion of meiosis at the end of story.   Pali language and Isan language were written with literary art.  Their diction has the eloquence, the figure of speech, the hyperbole and the scene of the earth and heaven.

Knowledge in the literature is the Buddhist content for people and Buddhist scriptures.  Finally, this virtuous literature of Isan is influential on people in terms of religion, knowledge, and the building of the palm leaf document and cultural foundation.
