Abstract

ABSTRACT

The thematic paper, “An Analysis of Organization Management of Buddhist Propagation of the Uthaithani Buddhist Propagation Centrehad two main purposes: (1) studying general concepts, principles, and the management theory of the organization, and (2) analyzing the organization management of Buddhist propagation managed by the Uthaithani Buddhist Propagation Centre. This was a document research that collected all primary data from Thai Tipitaka, the Mahachula Version, and secondary data from various academic books, documents and researches.

The results of this study were found that the efficient and effective management dealt with understanding the theory and principles of management in order to apply the knowledge to properly work, situations and environment. The Buddha used a process and various elements of management as a factor of management. In the modern time, there were many new theories of the organization management to achieve success in work such as the theory of organization, the theory of management, the theory of a leader, and  the theory of human relation.

The current Sangha had established an organizational structure of Buddhist propagation that was supported more by the government. The Thai ecclesiastical council issued the rules of the 2007 Buddhist propagation to establish the National Buddhist Propagation Centre and the Provincial Buddhist Propagation Centre. These ecclesiastical organizations were greatly supported by the government. Here, the Uthaithani Buddhist Propagation Centre had adopted various policies and theories of the organization management in the Buddha’s age and the modern theories of organizations applied to the management of modern enterprise in order to achieve the organization's given goals. However, the modern theories of Gulick and Urwick, and Deming still dealt with the Buddha’s fivefold law of nature that showed important aspects of close relation to the modern science. Thus, this theory should be brought to manage the organization although it was used without any pattern and it depended on the events in that time. If we had an idea of management and integration, we would see more success and found that such a theory would be brought to manage the other organizations further.
