Abstract

             The research entitled “An Analytical Study of the Importance of Phrathatinghung towards the People’s Ways of Life at Savannakhet Province” aimed to study the importance of the Buddhist stupa, to study the history and influence of Phrathatinghung towards the people in Savannakhet province, Lao as well as to analyze the importance of Phrathatinghung in relation to the people’s ways of life at Savannakhet province in Lao.

             It has been found, under the study that Buddhist believed in the stupa as it was the representative of the Buddha. Respecting the stupa, represented to the worshiping of the Buddha. Building of the stupa was recognized as predominant tradition for Buddhist in order to enshrine the Buddha’s relics. 

             The history has shown the connection of the Buddha period, and it was said that once the Buddha came to the area within stupa constructed. The stupa was built in order for enshrining the Buddha’s relics. The integrated-architecture was the form of the stupa and has been reconstructed constantly. The stupa has influenced the ways of life, belief, culture and tradition, mentality and wisdom of the people in Savannakhet province and all over the country.

             The analysis of the importance of Phrathatinghung in relation to the people’s ways of life in Savannakhet province has been split neatly into four parts, viz. 1) physical development- physical importance 2) moral development- social and circumstance importance 3) emotional development- emotional importance and 4) intellectual development- wisdom importance.
